Carlo Pettinelli is a photographer, professor at Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, counsellor and mediator of self-portrait workshops. After a degree in Statistics he devoted himself entirely to photography, collaborating with Italian and foreign magazines, publishing houses, photojournalistic agencies and companies for which he edited communication works.
He carries on collaborations with many exhibition spaces and galleries in Italy and abroad (among the exhibition venues that have welcomed him, including the Lucca Center of Contemporary Art, the Chiostro del Bramante in Rome, the Luxardo Gallery in Rome, the Zoli Contemporary Art Foundation in Forlì...). He has received prizes and awards for his work and his photographs are included in public and private collections.
From 2005 he also began training and teaching photography, in public schools and private courses, in the School of Arti e Mestieri of the Municipality of Rome, at the Quasar Institute for Advanced Design, in the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma.
In 2018 he obtained the first title of cousellor at the Italian Society of Therapeutic Psychosynthesis with a thesis on the use of photography in the helping relationship, and specializes in the use of therapeutic photography, consolidating his experience through the conduct of self-portrait workshops. In 2023 he published the book "Psicofotografia", about photography in the helping relationship.
He currently teaches photography in Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and in other private schools and conducts self-portrait workshops where photography meets introspection and personal growth.
